The Nexus Leading Across Boundaries Vision

Libraries, archives, and museums contribute to their shared communities by providing access to information, preserving cultural heritages, creating new knowledge, and facilitating lifelong learning.

Collectively, we take action to transform ourselves and our communities, positively contributing to the common good while evolving to meet our changing needs. Individually, our staff and volunteers advance our organizational ability to support our communities by developing their own potential across their careers, to nurture collaborative projects, efforts, and initiatives from the smallest ideas to larger, regional and national efforts.

Sharing this collective vision, those of us working in libraries, archives, and museums are dedicated to improving the common good. We share democratic values and ideals, such as diversity, inclusion, equity, privacy, civic engagement, human rights, and intellectual freedom. Our efforts are strengthened by working together.

Networked together, our fields can bring disciplinary strengths and perspectives together, to collaboratively develop, support and inspire leaders throughout our organizations who are actively improving their institutions and communities.
