Educopia took a Summer Break!

Naming the importance of taking a pause in order to recharge and move forward with renewed energy, we’re piloting and instituting annual closures at key points throughout 2024. Our first pilot closure will be the week of July 29 to August 2nd.

Since October 2022, Educopia has realized a Shared Leadership Model, refined an iterative organizational development practice, and introduced tactics to continuously strengthen our relational framework, i.e., our ways of working in community. Today, we’re unveiling our new Vision and Mission statements.

Educopia is 18 years old—a milestone year. At this milestone, we’re taking a moment to pause in our journey and survey our landscape and the results of the seeds we have planted, i.e., the communities, initiatives, and opportunities that we have nurtured and stewarded.

Wintergreen Women Writers Collective Receives $150,000 Award from Mellon Foundation

The Wintergreen Women Writers Collective is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation to support its mission of promoting the work of women writers. The grant will be administered by the Educopia Institute, the Collective’s fiscal sponsor, and supported by James Madison University Libraries.

Scaling Small: Partnerships and Organizational Resilience for Cita Press

Educopia is proud to serve as the fiscal sponsor for Cita Press as they begin their Scaling Small grant project, expanding the Cita Press catalog, pursuing joint projects with Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) and other partners, and piloting and implementing revenue-generating programs to sustain Cita in the long term.
